Attention Advisors... OSU Extension Food Policy
OSU Extension has put a Food Preparation/Service Policy in place effective April 15, 2006. If your club is engaged in a program/activity that includes food prepartation and/or service, then someone from your club must take this special training. According to the policy, "individuals providing leadership to the on-site preparation and service of food, for sale or giving away (not including carry-in, covered dish, pot-luck dinners, or bake sales) will have completed the Safe Food Handling for the Occasional Quantity Cook training or equivalent educational opportunity, prior to engaging in the food preparation service." This means, the person who is overseening the food booth/sales for the club or even the "cooking advisor" needs to attend this training.
Call or email Pat Holmes if you are interested in a Safe Food Handling class for 4-H volunteers.
