Attention Preble County 4-H Families:

We wanted to take the time to remind you about our office. This office is very small in comparison to surrounding counties.  It is comprised of one 4-H Educator and one Office Associate, and it is housed with the Preble County Fair Board.  We are, however, two very separate and distinct entities.  Therefore, we would like to make some clarifications: 

1.  When coming to the extension office, please do not come to the glass windows located right inside the entrance.  That is the Senior Fair Board office.  Please walk around the hallway to the left, follow the signage, and come through the door marked OSU EXTENSION. 
2. The Extension Office and the Senior Fair Board operate during different hours.  Our hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 8:30AM-4:30PM.  Wednesdays and Fridays 8:30AM-12 Noon.  Please understand that if you come to the office outside of these hours the Senior Fair Board office cannot help you.  They have no access to our computer system or office phones, as they are not linked.  You cannot be transferred to us by calling them.  The Extension office phone number is 937-300-6010.
3. If you need to get ahold of us, the best way is often through email.  Lairson.1@osu.edu or tilton.47@osu.edu   We will email you back within 24 hours.  When sending an email, please include both of us, and one of us will get back to you asap. 
4. Please understand that Betsy has commitments that often have her working outside of the physical office; however, she is working, it just may not be in the actual extension office.  There have been questions about this since her arrival, and we want to clarify this now so there is no further confusion.  When she works a weekend or stays for a late meeting, or works remote, she flexes her time to keep her within the 40-hour work week.  Nancy is also required to do this. Please be understanding of this, as we are a two-person office.
5. In the event that we both need to be out of office at the same time or we need to unexpectantly close or open late, we will make a post to the Facebook page, as well as the website at preble.osu.edu
6. Betsy will post her schedule for the following week to the website each Friday, so clients know when she will be available in the office.  It is always best to email first as things can change and her schedule is fluid. Please make appointments when you can because we only have one educator in the county.
7. We understand that people want to see the 4-H Educator in the office every day during the entire business hours; however, that isn’t possible based on the schedule that we carry. If you need an after-hours meeting, Betsy and/or Nancy will make themselves available for that.
8. Often times, we do not know when meetings are being held for different committees or groups. Please share your meeting schedules to Lairson.1@osu.edu and tilton.47@osu.edu We will make every effort to attend when possible.  We would love to come to at least one 4-H meeting for each club next year.  Please let us know when a good time would be. 
9. Also, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact us directly.  We cannot address or fix what we do not know.
