Have you ever wondered how to fill out those Preble County Award Forms (Pink Sheets) or what is proper barn etiquette? Come to the 2018 Project Clinic and find out. There are sessions for livestock and non-livestock projects. Lunch will be provided and you might just win a door prize!

Who can join?
Eligibility for 4-H membership begins when a child is enrolled in kindergarten and is age 5 as of January 1 of the current year (Cloverbuds). Membership to the 4-H club program begins when a child is enrolled in 3rd grade and is at least 8 as of January 1 of the current year. Any youth age 9 or above is eligible for project membership, regardless of grade level. Ohio 4-H membership ends December 31 of the year in which an individual attains the age of 19.

The Preble County Sr. & Jr. Fair board will begin implementing, in 2018, a new DNA tissue sample policy. DNA tissue samples will be mandatory and taken from the following species. Sheep, Goats, Feeder Calves, and Swine beginning this year. Steers will begin with 2019 projects (nose printing is already completed for 2018). You may be aware that starting January 1, 2017, you can no longer stop by a feed store and buy medicated feed containing certain types of antibiotics that were previously classified as over-the-counter (OTC) drugs. As of January 1, 2017 the FDA requires that clients have a VFD to be able to purchase animal feeds containing these anitbiotics. Celebrating the significant accomplishments and deep impact that OSU Extension has had on communities and in the lives of Ohioans provides a great springboard for the future. A significant component of Ohio’s celebration in 2014 will be a year-long process focused on our future. The primary work this year will center on futuring – asking questions about and envisioning the long-term future of OSU Extension as well as the role the organization should play in shaping and positively impacting Ohio and Ohio residents.
